I’ll never forget the day I decided to take my financial future into my own hands. I was just 12 years old, living in a single-parent home with my mom and eight siblings. I watched her work relentlessly to keep us afloat—and I remember thinking, there has to be a better way.
One day, wearing my best suit and carrying my mom’s briefcase, I marched into a bank determined to get a mortgage and buy us a home. The banker’s face said it all. I didn’t know anything about loans, equity, or credit—but I knew I wanted to change our circumstances. That moment planted a seed: I would learn how money really worked—and use that knowledge to help families like mine.
By 16, I had left my first job at a grocery store—not because I couldn’t do it, but because I saw a ceiling I wasn’t willing to accept. I launched a small painting business and started knocking on doors. That drive—to create opportunity and deliver value—has guided every step since.
I’ve seen how everyday people get boxed out of real estate. I’ve watched families overpay for insurance they don’t understand. I’ve witnessed good people make poor financial choices—not because they’re careless, but because they’re uninformed or misled.
That’s what drives me today.

Looking back, I know a lot of my drive came from how I was raised. Growing up in a single-parent household with eight siblings, we moved often—sometimes staying with friends or extended family just to get by. I saw firsthand how financial instability and lack of access to resources could limit even the most hardworking people.
But those experiences gave me something else, too: perspective. Empathy. And a deep belief that no one should feel left out of the wealth conversation. I’ve felt that frustration—like building wealth is for “other people”—and I’ve made it my mission to change that narrative.
